Setting
Clean Romance Books Set in North Carolina
North Carolina shows up in clean romance more than almost any other state, and I get why. It has all three of the settings the genre loves. Small towns with front porches and sweet tea, the Outer Banks for the beach reads, and the Blue Ridge for the mountain stories. The Outer Banks is one of my favorite places anywhere, so I might be a little biased toward this one.
The Southern hospitality in these books reads as real because so many of the writers are actually from the region. The pace is unhurried, and the setting carries real weight in every story. A few of my favorite series are set here too, which never hurts.
Everything on this page takes place somewhere in North Carolina, and it's all no spice. You'll find mountain romances in and around Asheville, the inherited beach house plot on the Outer Banks, small Piedmont towns with church and front porch culture, and a few Charlotte stories for when you want a little city.
