The Austen Escape

Mary Davies, an engineer in Austin, gets talked into a two-week stay at a manor house in Bath with her estranged childhood friend, Isabel Dwyer. When Isabel loses her memory and believes she’s living in Regency England, Mary has to keep things together while surrounded by costume-clad guests, old feelings, and new questions about her friendship and her own future. Told mainly through Mary’s point of view, the story blends modern-day Texas and a Jane Austen-inspired getaway in England. It’s a clean, family-friendly novel with friendship, romance, and plenty of Austen flavor, set off by misunderstandings, conversations, and a very unusual holiday.
