Description
Lizzy and Jane follows Elizabeth “Lizzy” Hughes, a New York City chef whose once-brilliant restaurant is starting to falter just as a new partner is brought in to share her kitchen. Stressed and unsure she can still cook the way she used to, Lizzy heads back to Seattle, where her older sister Jane is undergoing cancer treatment and their relationship is strained from years of distance.
Told from Lizzy’s perspective, the story stays grounded in family, food, and quiet faith as she cooks for Jane through chemotherapy, reconnects with their dad, and slowly opens up to Nick, Jane’s coworker, and his young son. The romance is gentle and clean, and much of the focus is on forgiveness, finding “home,” and how good meals can comfort hurting people. It’s a thoughtful contemporary novel for readers who want emotional depth without graphic content.
