The Kindle drop we have been waiting for!
Amazon announced a lineup of Kindles and Kindle accessories that I am so excited about! Let’s talk about what’s new!
Kindle Accessories
Kicking it off with something we have been waiting for!
Kindle Click - This new Kindle accessory has front buttons to turn your Kindle pages forward and backwards with just a click! The side buttons adjust the brightness of your screen and holding both puts your Kindle to sleep. It has bluetooth pairing, a rechargeable battery that lasts for weeks, and comes with a wrist lanyard. It is compatible with the 2024 Kindles and newer, costs $34.99, and will be available October 28th!
The bottom line: If you ever find yourself wanting to turn the page without taking your hands out from under the covers, this is for you!
Kindle Page Turn Cover - This new case is Kindle’s response to the people wanting the Oasis model back. It has physical page turn buttons built into the side of the cover, no charging or pairing needed! It is compatible with the Paperwhite and Colorsoft Signature Editions from this year. Like those devices, it is also waterproof and has a magnetic closure to wake and put your Kindle to sleep. It comes in Fig, Seaglass Green, and Graphite and runs $79.99. You can get it on October 28th!
The bottom line: If you have wished you could still buy a Kindle Oasis, this is the accessory for you - just make sure you get a new Paperwhite or Colorsoft Signature!
Charging Stand - Last but not least for new accessories, we have the charging stand. This accessory is also compatible with the Paperwhite and Colorsoft Signature Editions. It has magnetic charging for your Kindle, is angled so you can read while using, and is priced at $59.99. Keep in mind that you do have to remove any cases before using, so you could not use the page turn cover and the charging stand at the same time. Currently, this listing on Amazon just says coming soon - so stay tuned for the release!
The bottom line: If you want your Kindle to look super aesthetic on your nightstand or desk while also charging, this might be for you!

Kindle E-Readers
Now onto the devices themselves!
Kindle Basic - The tried and true Kindle has a 6 inch screen and 16 GB of storage. The battery lasts for up to 6 weeks, and it comes in Graphite and Ube! It is available now for $149.99 with ads and $169.99 without.
The bottom line: This pocket sized Kindle is a great pick if you are new to e-readers and want to try one out, prefer the smaller size, or absolutely need the Ube purple color!
Kindle Basic Aluminum - This upgraded version of the Kindle basic model has the same 6 inch screen and 6 weeks of battery but with 32 GB of storage. It comes in Alpine Sky and Seaglass Green. What makes this version different is its aluminum material, making it feel a little more premium. It costs $189.99 without ads and is available now!
The bottom line: This slightly elevated basic Kindle is perfect for those who need a little more durable device or simply love the pastel blue or green color!
Kindle Paperwhite - The classic Paperwhite has a 7 inch screen, 16 GB of storage, and up to 12 weeks of battery life. It comes in Graphite. Unlike the basic Kindle, it is waterproof and has an adjustable warm light. It is $199.99 with ads or $219.99 without ads and is available on October 28th.
The bottom line: If the waterproof or adjustable warm light features are super important to you, this is a great option to choose. However, in my opinion, if you can spend a little extra, I would go for the next model…
Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition - The signature edition is the elevated version of the Paperwhite. It has the same features as its more simple companion, but this version comes with 32 GB of storage plus a new aluminum design, an auto-adjusting front light, and pogo pins which allow for compatibility with the new page turn cover and charging stand! This model will run you $249.99 without ads and comes in Seaglass Green or Graphite. It is available on October 28th!
The bottom line: If you are wanting to upgrade from the basic Kindle or really want to be able to take advantage of the new page turn cover, but you don’t care about having color e-ink, this is the Kindle for you!
Kindle Colorsoft - The newest member of the lineup is the color sibling to the Paperwhite. It has 16 GB of storage, the same 7 inch screen (except this one has color ink), and up to 8 weeks of battery. It only comes in the color Graphite, but it does have a new highlight color for you to use - green! These devices are waterproof with an adjustable warm light. Currently $289.99 without ads, they will be available on October 28th!
The bottom line: I feel similarly about this device as I do to the regular Paperwhite - great if you are wanting the waterproof or adjustable warm light features on a color Kindle; however, if you can afford the upgrade, I think the Signature Edition is a better buy!
Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition - This upgraded version of the Colorsoft is the same 7 inch screen and 8 weeks of battery but with 32 GB of storage. It is still waterproof with the adjustable warm light but also has a new aluminum design, an auto adjusting light, and pogo pins to work with the new page turn cover and charging stand. It comes in both a Fig and Graphite color, is priced at $319.99 without ads, and is available October 28th.
The bottom line: If you are wanting a color Kindle, I think this is the one to buy! It has extra storage, a more durable shell, and the ability to use some of the new accessories Amazon has released!
All of the Kindles are lighter and thinner than their predecessors. They are also claimed to be 30% faster. Additionally, the device color now wraps to the front, as you can see in the photos, instead of switching to black.
The Kindle Basic, Paperwhite, and Colorsoft also come in kids versions with kid friendly covers, plus 12 months of Kids+ included. These start at $179.99.
The Scribe was updated in 2025 so it did not receive an update this year.
Thank you for reading No Spice Books!
More to come, friends!
