Pages I’m Turning: September 2026
Happy Fall! I apologize for the delay of emails this month - we are on our newborn’s schedule! PS - New releases for October should be coming soon!
Just Shelved: Recent Reads

Glorious Rivals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - I always have so much fun reading these young adult books with all the puzzles and twists. They are the perfect series to binge for fall - I love that they are suspenseful and mysterious without being scary or dark. I have the next one downloaded and ready to read soon!!!
Content: No spice, mild language.
Here We Go Again by Jenny Proctor - Jenny Proctor knows how to write hockey romance, and this was so cute!! I love seeing both Carter’s and now Theo’s stories after reading the Appies series. I can’t wait for the next book - the community she is building is so good!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
The Fall Back Plan by Melanie Jacobson - I feel like this book especially shows off the small town charm of Harvest Hollow and the community it fosters. Lucas was such a sweet male main character and father figure to his niece. There was also a little mystery aspect of this book that felt a little out of left field to me, but I liked the way it was resolved.
Content: Kissing only, no language.
Faking the Fall by Julie Christianson - I think this was one of my favorites in the series. I loved the celebrity and fake dating aspects alongside their history and previous friendship. All the fall activities made the book perfect for this time of year. I can’t wait to read the rest of her Harvest Hollow Love Stories series!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
A Not So Fictional Fall by Savannah Scott - I read He’s So Not My Valentine (book 2) for Valentine’s Day so I knew a little bit about Rene and Heather’s story, and it was so fun to finally read it! I loved the bookish elements of this and the sweet marriage of convenience.
Content: Kissing only, no language.
Easy as Pie by Carina Taylor - A friends to lovers fall romance is my idea of a perfect book. This was super cute, and I can’t wait to read the rest of her All’s Fair series with Tripp and Hazel’s friends!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
The First Forty Days by Heng Ou - This was a great postpartum read to help set my expectations and hopes for the next few weeks and months. While I’m probably not going to directly make any of the recipes, the overall wisdom and mindset is super helpful!!!
On My Nightstand: Current Reads

Trust Fall by Lynn Painter - This might be my new favorite Lynn Painter book?!? I have really loved the fall atmosphere, the New York City setting, the prep school, and the way the relationship between Julia and Damion has blossomed. I haven’t wanted to put it down!
Content: Kissing only, does have frequent strong language especially for a young adult book!
Liturgies for Motherhood by Brooke Mousetis - I got an ARC of this, and I already know it’s going to be a staple in my motherhood journey and something I gift to other moms in my life. I love prayer books and liturgies, and these being tailored to this specific new season of life is so sweet. This book comes out in March, and if you are a mom, I think you will want to check it out!!!
In the Queue: Upcoming Reads

Call It Serendipity by C.A. Steinhaus - This fall romance is set in the 1990s in small town New York, and I just know it is going to be the coziest read! The cover really reminds me of Gilmore Girls, and I can’t wait to start it!
The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - This is the next book in The Grandest Game series! I am excited to see what happens because the last one ended on a cliffhanger!
Into the Quiet by John Mark Comer - I have enjoyed and learned so much from every JMC book I have ever read, so I am very much looking forward to this new one! I think it is going to be perfect for the fall and winter months, especially with a newborn!
What books have you just shelved, are on your nightstand, or are in the queue?
Thank you for reading No Spice Books!
More to come, friends!
