Just Shelved: Recent Reads
Summer at Firefly Beach by Jenny Hale - I am a sucker for a childhood friends to lovers story, and this one was super cute! I also loved the beach setting and the side of mystery / family drama.
Content: Kissing only, no language!
Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune - I loved so many things about this story - the friends to lovers, the personal growth, the relationship with her mom, the whales, the setting, the letters. Unfortunately, because of the spice, I would not read it again and probably won’t continue reading Carley Fortune.
Content: Strong language, open door spice (end of chapter 38, end of chapter 40, chapter 44, end of chapter 52).
The Shippers by Katherine Center - I am pretty much a fan of anything Katherine Center writes, and this was no different! I really enjoyed the childhood friends to lovers, the cruise ship setting, and all the shenanigans. The ending was a little bit chaotic (similar to The Love Haters if you read that one), and I loved it all! Such a fun summer read!
Content: Kissing only, infrequent language.
The House on Firefly Beach by Jenny Hale - This is the interconnected second book after Summer at Firefly Beach, and it was so fun to be back in their small Florida beach town! Nate and Sydney were super cute; although, I did find myself wishing, waiting, and wondering why they didn’t just talk it out sooner. Overall, another cute summer read!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
Spur of the Moment by Juliana Smith - If you are looking for a fun, YA, cowboy romance, this is it! I love her writing, and Walker and Lottie were so adorable. Plus, book number two is coming this fall and has a Dixie Chicks song as the title!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way by Susan McCutcheon - I highly recommend this book for birth prep. Now that I am in my third trimester (HOW), I need to start practicing some of these exercises!
On My Nightstand: Current Reads
Summer Ever After by Kortney Keisel - I have been wanting to start the Falling for Summer series for a while now, and I finally did! So far, I am loving all the different romance tropes she is testing out, the beachy small town setting, and the side of golf sports romance!
Natural Hospital Birth: The Best of Both Worlds by Cynthia Gabriel - I am really enjoying this birth book so far. I think it would have been good to read it a little earlier in pregnancy / before some of the more in depth books because I think it gives a really good more three-sixty view of pregnancy and birth. Definitely would recommend so far!
Your Money or Your Life by Vicki Robin - I am still working my way through this one on money and mindset. I love the overall shift of thinking of your money as the life energy it took to acquire it. I think this book has lots of practical wisdom!
In the Queue: Upcoming Reads
Little Miss Goody Two Shoes by Shelbey Kendall - This one has been on my radar for a while now, and I cannot wait to pick it up! A second chance romance with a Try Something You’ve Never Done list? Sounds like my dream!
Hypnobirthing by Marie Mongan - This is the next book up in my birth reading list. I am officially in my third trimester, and it is feeling a lot more real!!!
What books have you just shelved, are on your nightstand, or are in the queue?
Thank you for reading No Spice Books!
More to come, friends!
