My Must-Read Summer Book Recs!
The Love Haters by Katherine Center - This story had me laughing out loud but also on the edge of my seat. It is that classic blend of women’s fiction and romance that we love Katherine Center for but heavier on the romance than her backlist. The immerse Key West setting makes it a perfect book to pick up by the beach or the pool!
If All Else Sails by Emma St. Clair - After Wyatt gets a hockey injury and cannot take his planned sailing trip alone, Josie agrees to accompany her brother’s best friend on his adventure down the coast of Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. A book that takes place on a sailboat = the perfect atmospheric summer read! On Kindle Unlimited!
Oakley Island Romcoms by Emma St. Clair and Jenny Proctor - One of my all time favorite no spice romance series. These books are set in a small, fictional town in coastal South Carolina. They have great sister dynamics and small town community! Sadie and the Bad Boy Billionaire was probably my favorite, and Izzy and Her Off Limits Love was a sweet, second generation, Christmas addition to the series! On Kindle Unlimited!
Just Friends by Haley Pham - This one is a second chance, dual POV, friends to lovers romance set in a small California beach town. Second chance, friends to lovers, and the beach - these are a few of my favorite things!!! This is her debut novel, and I absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next.
You can check out my reading vlog for Just Friends here!
The Summer of Yes by Courtney Walsh - This is probably my perfect summer book. It has the beach, a road trip, some romance, an intergenerational friendship, and an inspirational goal to spend the summer saying yes to things you would normally say no to. It is the perfect blend of women’s fiction and romance. I might need to re-read this one this year!
Everything’s Coming Up Rosie by Courtney Walsh - This one is another women’s fiction and romance, Courtney Walsh favorite that follows Rosie and Booker. It has really beautiful themes of not taking things too seriously, community, and chasing your dreams. It is probably one of my favorite books of all time! On Kindle Unlimited!
The Happy Life of Isadora Bentley by Courtney Walsh - One more women’s fiction mixed with romance, Courtney Walsh book for you! This one follows Isadora, a university researcher who sets out to prove that a list of 31 Ways to Be Happy she found in a magazine simply doesn’t work. I love these feel good, inspirational reads in the summertime! On Kindle Unlimited!
Love, Unscripted by Denise Hunter - This book follows a fake dating romance between an author, Chloe, and the man chosen to play her MMC in the film adaption of her novel, Liam. A story set in coastal North Carolina with a bookish plot = ideal!!!!
Bookshop by the Sea by Denise Hunter - Yet another bookish read set in coastal North Carolina! This one is a second chance romance, courtesy of forced proximity from a hurricane. Plus, if you didn’t guess by the title, there is a coastal, small town bookshop that is perfect!!!
Underneath Sunset Skies by Makenzie Hinkemeyer - This story is set in small town, coastal Massachusetts with a forced proximity, house-sharing setup - think The Summer I Turned Pretty. It follows Ellie and Asher, who happens to be her ex’s older brother and a childhood family friend. On Kindle Unlimited!
How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan - This book feels like an HGTV, enemies to lovers rom-com at the beach. What could be better? This is the second book in The Jansen Brothers series, but you don’t have to read the first one to enjoy this! On Kindle Unlimited!
Which one do you want to pick up first?
More to come, friends!
