A new 5 star, fall romance, & more!
Just Shelved: Recent Reads

Call it Serendipity by C.A. Steinhaus - If you want a fall romance set in the 90’s with a walkman and other nostalgic touches, you should pick this one up! Reading this felt like watching an old 90’s romantic comedy - the big city boy coming in to build something in town, the small town girl falling for him, the townspeople, the main street. It was so cute!
Content: Closed door spice, no language.
Feels Like Home by Courtney Walsh - I downloaded this as soon as she announced it, and I absolutely LOVED it! The ranch setting, the family dynamic, Hattie and Noble’s characters and development, the romance, the themes of forgiveness and second chances, the overlap with the Holidays with Hart series - it was so good. I can’t wait to read the next one for Christmas!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes - This was the conclusion of The Grandest Game trilogy which was a spinoff of The Inheritance Games. I have really enjoyed reading all of these books for the twists, the romances, and getting out of my usual genre. This final book was one of the best! I could not put it down and really enjoyed the way JLB brought all the different characters and storylines together in this final adventure. I thought it was a great way to wrap up the stories in this world…at least for now? We will see if she writes any more!
Content: Kissing only, mild language.
The Bodyguard’s Fall by Cindy Steel - This is a new favorite fall romance for me! The bodyguard / suspense aspect kept me on my toes, and the romance was so perfect! I loved the protectiveness of Tate and the vulnerability both main characters shared with each other. The ranch setting, the fall activities, the small town, Tate’s family, and Olivia’s job as a screenwriter were other aspects of the story I really enjoyed! Plus, I loved how Cindy Steel wove in some commentary on the importance and power of a lighthearted rom-com because I completely agree!
Content: Kissing only, no language.
Liturgies for Motherhood by Brooke Mousetis - I cannot wait to get a physical copy of this book and make it a part of my daily rhythms of motherhood. Each prayer is so beautifully written, and she picked so many relevant, simple yet sacred moments of motherhood. I will not only be buying myself a copy but plan to gift this to moms as well! If you are a new or young mom in the thick of raising kids right now, I think you would love this book!!!
On My Nightstand: Current Reads

Autumn on My Mind by Gracie Ruth Mitchell - I hope to finish one or two more in this series before I switch to Christmas romances! I love the way this series is interconnected in that the love stories are happening at the same time, and we get to see not only characters and settings overlap but also events in each book!
Into the Quiet by John Mark Comer - This book is challenging me in its discussion of quiet, noise, and solitude. I think this is the perfect season to start it if you are interested!
In the Queue: Upcoming Reads

Main Characters by Bobby Palmer - I have heard really good things about this book! It is a romance told entirely from other people’s point of views, not the two main characters. It sounds like such an interesting concept, and I am excited to give it a try!
Digital Liturgies: Rediscovering Christian Wisdom in an Online Age by Samuel James - While right now our son is not quite yet interested in screens, I know that it starts with me. I want to get my relationship with technology right so that I can teach him how to handle it wisely as he grows. This is just one of the books I have one my list to read on this topic! I also recommend The Anxious Generation if you are interested in this as well.
What books have you just shelved, are on your nightstand, or are in the queue?
Thank you for reading No Spice Books!
More to come, friends!
