Description
In 1877 Cornwall, meteorologist Hattie Ainsworth studies the coastal weather of Blackmoor Bay, using a male pseudonym so the scientific world will take her research seriously. Her storm data soon points to foul play behind a recent shipwreck on the rocky shore. Former sea captain Jago Enys serves as the local magistrate, though he still grieves the loss of his wife five years earlier. When another vessel smashes into the rocks with no survivors, Jago leads the inquiry and crosses paths with Hattie. Her startling observations pull both of them into a dangerous hunt for coastal wreckers deliberately luring ships to their doom.
The story delivers an atmospheric, moody blend of Victorian suspense and coastal drama. Griep crafts a steady, slow burning connection between two cautious leads who learn to trust again while facing real peril. The romance stays entirely clean and closed door, woven with faith and emotional depth. It is a great fit for readers who love wholesome historical romantic suspense, gothic English settings, and intelligent heroines solving coastal mysteries.
