Description
In 1910 Orange County, California, Ginny Clay finds herself at a crossroads after her sister marries and moves on. Long considered her family's peacemaker, Ginny needs a fresh sense of purpose. She turns her attention to her grandparents' orange grove, which faces ruin from an insect invasion. Her father intends to sell the land, but Ginny strikes a deal with him for one year to revive the trees and save the property. To make it happen, she teams up with Ernesto Silva MacDonald, a skilled Mexican-Irish grove worker who harbors his own ambitions of studying medicine.
Working side by side in the orchards, the two form an easy camaraderie that gradually shifts into something deeper. It is a gentle, sweet romance that remains wholesome and clean throughout, focusing on faith, loyalty, and overcoming community expectations. Readers who love inspirational historical fiction will feel right at home with this hopeful, family-centered story.
