The Camellia Made of Stone

Set against the backdrop of a Midwestern church youth group, The Camellia Made of Stone follows Chris and Julie as they navigate from an awkward teenage crush to a complex grown-up reality. When they unexpectedly cross paths again, the old spark is undeniably there, but so are years of separate heartaches, changing dreams, and personal growth. Together, they are forced to confront whether their resurfaced feelings are a beautiful second chance orchestrated by divine appointment, or a temptation from the past that they need to finally lay to rest. If you love deeply introspective, slow-burn stories that prioritize emotional depth and spiritual growth over instant gratification, this book is for you. It is a tender, raw, and redemptive Christian romance that beautifully captures the "one that got away" trope with a nostalgic '90s flair. Readers who enjoy faith-based storytelling filled with scripture, rich character arcs, and a realistic look at how past choices shape our future will find this to be a thoughtful and incredibly comforting read. Trigger Warnings: This novel does not feature a traditional 'happily ever after'. Instead, the novel focuses on spiritual understanding and receiving forgiveness for past disobedience. It offers the reader to reflect on putting one's trust in the Lord and His timing. The author specifically wrote the story to help others find peace and resolution in 'the one that got away' as well as tying in the biblical seed, time, and harvest message. One character dies at the World Trade Center on 9/11 during a late chapter detailing how the characters lives unfolded. The death is merely mentioned and does not go into details.
